Few composers have left a heroic mark in the way Beethoven has on the world of classical music. Be amazed as the Philharmonic welcomes Young Concert Artist Ying Li to the stage under the baton of Laura Jackson for a captivating program of all Beethoven music, featuring three of his most iconic works. Fidelio Overture is a true testament to Beethoven’s intensity as a composer written for his only opera, Fidelio, showcases themes of love, courage, and the triumph of the human spirit. Then, be enchanted by Piano Concerto No. 4 full of beauty and splendor where piano and orchestra weave together an exquisite dialogue. Conclude the concert with the monumental and triumphant Symphony No. 3 “Eroica.” A masterpiece in its own right is a pivotal moment in time for classical music as the transition from Classicism and Romanticism.
