Announcing 19/20 Applause Awards Nominees
Our annual Dr. Phillips Center Applause Awards, sponsored by AdventHealth, honor excellence in high school musical theater productions and provide scholarships for college-bound seniors.
This school year, more than 500 students and 30 schools from our seven-county region participated in the program—which normally culminates in a performance showcase, and presentation of top awards and scholarships. Plus, a lead actor and actress go on to a national competition in New York City.
While COVID-19 changed plans for national and regional programs like ours, we’re moving forward with our own plan to recognize the inspiring talents of everyone from set and costume designers to lead actors and actresses. We also worked with generous donors to honor more than 40 seniors with scholarships this year—and we’ll host a virtual ceremony later this summer.
