Young Frankenstein

About the show

IT’S ALIVE … and it’s hilarious! Watch Theatre UCF bring Mel Brooks’ classic comedic musical to life on the Walt Disney Theater stage for five performances.

Based on Mel Brooks’ 1974 film, Young Frankenstein is an electrifying musical adaptation. The story follows Frederick Frankenstein, a young scientist who’s trying to distance himself from his grandfather Victor’s infamous reputation. Upon inheriting his family’s estate, Frederick travels to Transylvania, teams up with a hunchbacked sidekick Igor and lab assistant Inga and digs into the dubious work of his ancestors. Frederick creates a monster, comedic chaos ensues and it turns out he’s a perfect fit for his ancestors’ mad scientist shoes.

Monstrously funny and full of popular hits like “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” you’d be mad to miss this musical parody from the lab of a comedic genius.

This event is part of UCF Celebrates the Arts 2027. Complete festival information, including program information for all events and exhibits, is at arts.ucf.edu.
